Tale Trail – The Tree Farmer
This season we are celebrating trees with the book “The Tree Farmer” by Chuck Leavell. A grandfather takes his grandson on a journey through his farm, the place where he lovingly grows trees—only to cut them down! During their magical journey through the farm, the grandson learns about the gifts we receive from trees and how we need to care for trees for future generations. The illustrator has cleverly hidden man-made wooden objects in the tree trunks on some pages, making the clear connection between the trees of the forest and things we use every day.
Follow the pages of this delightful story along our woodland trails, reading and exploring as you go. This Tale Trail is open daily through July 30th. Walk our other trails and garden paths, explore our stream, build a fairy house while you’re here! Admission is $5 per child, adults and infants are free. Please go to our website for COVID-19 protocol and more information about the Tale Trail.
