All IN Music Festival Debuts With All-Star Dreamsets Honoring Allman Brothers Band & Tom Petty
All IN Music Festival made its debut at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, IN over the weekend. The first-year fest hosted sets from a diverse lineup of artists including Daryl Hall & John Oates, Portugal. The Man, Trampled by Turtles, Dumpstaphunk, and two all-star Dreamsets honoring the music of The Allman Brothers Band and Tom Petty.
The two-day festival kicked off on Saturday with Daryl Hall & John Oates, Portugal. The Man, Trampled by Turtles, Misterwives, Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs, Dumpstaphunk, Samantha Fish, and more. The highlight of the day was the all-star Dreamset honoring the legacy of The Allman Brothers Band, which featured a mix of the group’s former members, direct descendants, and spiritual ancestors including Chuck Leavell (The Rolling Stones, The Allman Brothers Band), Duane Betts (The Allman Betts Band), JoJo Hermann (Widespread Panic), Sunny Ortiz (Widespread Panic), Berry Oakley Jr. (The Allman Betts Band), Rod Morgenstein (Dixie Dregs, Winger), Gerry Hansen, Johnny Stachela (Allman Betts Band), Steve Morse (Deep Purple, Kansas, Dixie Dregs), Bill Nershi (The String Cheese Incident), Samantha Fish, and some very special guests who stopped by to join the fun, including Goose guitarist Rick Mitarotonda and Dumpstaphunk keyboardist Ivan Neville.
Sunday’s lineup included Cage the Elephant, John Fogerty, Death Cab For Cutie, Dawes, and more, including another Dreamset, this time dedicated to the music of rock icon Tom Petty, which featured Dawes, Matt Schultz (Cage the Elephant), Daniel Tichenor (Cage the Elephant), John Oates (Daryl Hall & John Oates), Jenny Lewis, Nicki Bluhm, as well as the previous Dreamset’s special guests, Rick Mitarotonda and Ivan Neville.
