Chuck Leavell leads a double life. Known for his legendary rock and roll keyboard instrumentals, Leavell has served as an integral member of the Allman Brothers Band, as well as keyboardist and musical director of the Rolling Stones. He has been awarded a Lifetime Achievement GRAMMY award and been featured on a slew of successful records, including Eric Clapton, George Harrison, John Mayer, and more.

While most people may be satisfied with this impressive musical career, Chuck Leavell is also a dedicated environmentalist. He and his wife Rose Lane are two-time Georgia Tree Farmers of the Year and winners of the National Outstanding Tree Farmers award. Leavell has written four books and serves on many environmental boards across the country. The same month he won a GRAMMY, he was honored as an Honorary Forest Ranger by the United States Forest Service.

Join us in welcoming the living legend, Chuck Leavell, for his Wilson Center debut on Friday, September 20th at 7:30 p.m. During this 90-minute event, Leavell will screen an abridged version of “Chuck Leavell: The Tree Man,” a documentary about his life’s work. This will be followed by a moderated discussion, including storytelling and live musical renditions. Humble, engaging, and full of hope, Chuck Leavell tells his one-of-a-kind life story.
