The Brothers Take Over SiriusXM Southern Rock Channel Ahead Of ABB Family Reunion At Madison Square Garden
The Brothers will carry the Allman Brothers Band legacy across the SiriusXM airwaves throughout April. From April 8th–21st, members of the latter-day ABB tribute will host the new Southern Rock station on channel 79 ahead of The Brothers’ return to New York’s Madison Square Garden on April 15th and 16th.
Listeners will hear exclusive content hosted by The Brothers, comprised of Jaimoe, Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Oteil Burbridge, Marc Quinones, and special guests. They’ll share music from the Allmans, Gov’t Mule, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and more, plus memories from the band and a live performance by The Brothers at SiriusXM’s New York City studios on April 14th.
All of this will lead up to The Brothers’ two-night return to Madison Square Garden, five years after the band first came together on the eve of COVID’s live music shutdown. This year, the returning cast of Allman Brothers vets will welcome special guests Joe Russo (drums), Reese Wynans (keys), Isaac Eady (drums), and longtime collaborator Chuck Leavell (piano).
The 2025 return of The Brothers was inspired by last fall’s SOULSHINE hurricane relief benefit, where Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks reconnected at the Garden for a fiery take on Allman Brothers Band staple “Whipping Post” (with both Joe Russo and Duane Trucks adding drums to the thundering mix), a moving rendition of Gregg Allman classic “Melissa” (with help from Dave Matthews and Trey Anastasio), and more.
